Steve Riley's interview on the 63xc.com site with John Wyatt (who we believe to be the first fixed gear on the Peaks - prove us wrong!) is a great read. Wyatt's ride didn't even leave him with sore knees. Maybe he needs a bigger gear next year, then.
"The first climb was like something out of Lord of the Rings. Long, long drag up a sketchy, slippery crazily-steep path, followed by a half-blind fumble through the clouds across a bleak, rocky moorland. And then it got really hard."
